Studio History

Do-Re-Mi for Kids is a music studio created by Chris Marti and her "helpers". In a former life, Chris trained and did postgraduate work in anthropology and museum studies. As an accomplished guitar player in her pre-university days, she wanted to make sure that her children received a good music education. Exposure to music lessons for her own children was her undoing - she was hooked on music again. From "parent helper", she jumped into keyboard and rhythm teaching.

Her love of music, gift of teaching, and seemingly infinite patience with her students have made music lessons the highlight in her student's days. The number of kids who actually "want to practice" is just wrong (in the words of her two teenagers - now reluctantly talented young musicians).

The sounds from her studio are laughter and beautiful noise (depending on the age group of the class, the description is half right). The studio must seem like a toy store to the younger ones: toys, props, games, and instruments.

These days, Chris is continuously improving her teaching and expanding her teaching repertoire. Music Pups is her latest joy (you can guess which part of beautiful noise comes out of these classes)

So here you have it, folks: a very unauthorized tale of Chris' studio history. As her helper, technical support team, recital bouncer, and webmaster

I bid you well in her music world. Enjoy it and soak up what she can offer - it is a rare and amazing thing.
